ABOUT!

Ollie Hicks (Hicks!!) is a comics creator and editor. They have a PhD from the University of Dundee in Comics Studies and formerly worked as a Graphic Novels Editor at Rebellion. They are repped by Britt Siess of Britt Siess Creative Management.

Their debut graphic novel, GRAND SLAM ROMANCE, co-created with their wife Emma Oosterhous, was published by Surely Books in 2023, with two more books planned in the series.

EDITING

From 2020-2023, I worked at Rebellion, first as Junior Graphic Novels editor, and then, from September 2022, following a promotion, as a Graphic Novels Editor. I worked across the 2000 AD, Treasury of British Comics and Roy of the Rovers lines.

Highlights include being lead editor on the collected editions of The Ballad of Halo Jones Full Colour Omnibus Edition, A Very British Affair: The Best of Romance Comics, 2000 AD Encyclopedia, 2000 AD Regened, Megatropolis, Full Tilt Boogie, Misty Presents the Jaume Rumeu Collection and The Best of Cat Girl.

Previously, I have worked as an editorial assistant across DC Thomson's Boys Comics Line, working on Beano, Commando and Epic Magazine.
